Antique Wallpapers at Mallett Gallery

I loved these two art deco patterns:


I also got a peak at the most unique wallpaper I’ve ever seen. Made in China for an estate in England, this mural pattern illustrates scenes with incredible detail.


And some magnificent French scenes designed by Carle Vernet and wood-block printed by Jaquemart & Bernard between 1812 and 1815. To see such fantastic and different papers in 10 minutes made me think that although styles and production methods change, quality artisan wallpaper will be appreciated, in some way, in years to come.
