Eric Nyquist is an illustrator/designer who was commissioned to work on the walls of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory- the Pasadena branch of NASA. I’m surprised and impressed that NASA would take a leap with his colorful, graphic, humorous visions. How cool!

Check out more of Eric’s work here. Thanks for the tip, Kathryn!

An amazing image of Miky Fabrega, one of the artists in Cavern’s Artist Edition Series, with a window display he designed for Life furniture store in Panama. Stunning!

Photographer Pamela Pecchio captures some interesting wallpapers in these images from her “Habitations” exhibit, shown at the Daniel Cooney gallery. I’m not sure I totally understand what Pecchio is going for, but there’s something uniquely bizarre about the combination of patterns and objects that keeps me engaged.

Thanks for the heads up Karli!

You’d be hard pressed to find a young artist more daring, imaginative and fanciful than Hsiao-Chi Tsai. Born in 1981 and based in London, Tsai works with mixed media, industrial elements, papers, fabric– and almost anything else you can imagine. Her work is hard to categorize by traditional classification, but I would describe it as ambitiously three dimensional, wildly expressive, and beautifully intricate. There is a always a surprising element – a sense of whimsy – to her work that makes it so engaging and fun to look at. She is definitely someone to watch.
Here are just a few images from her portfolio that stand out as my favorites, but check out her website for more inspiration. Awesomeness abounds.

Dutch designer Thomas Voorn is simply incredible: his work is imaginative, boundary-blurring, bold, nuanced. His interest in fashion extends beyond textile and pattern design, but he clearly understands both very, very well. Enjoy these photos, and be sure to explore his website for more. This guy is pure inspiration.
